Title: Stryro foam cutter using phone charger (update)

Hai every one
     While I was building my blue baby 42 Styrofoam cutting was needed, So I made a styrofoam cutter from Nokia phone charger which has an out put of 5v/800 milli amp The wire used is a nichrome wire and the bow span is 40 cm.it is cutting great.Hope help some one.

Nokia chargers are smps based, i think you should use a auto bulb in series for safety otherwise it will blow your charger.....this applies on transformers base cutter too...... :hatsoff:

yes it will blow up , there may be chances , i have had an experience ,

ok there should also be any other similar good way of building foam cutter , any idea ?

i use a simple one...

wooden  bow ( just like the real  bow) using heating element   from  induction cookers( get  some from repair shop or spareshop) a 12V 3A step  down connected directly.... works  good

the  tension in the bow will help it stretch,, and not sag
