the microwave conda

hi,
i built a microwave conda ;) ;). using a microwavable bowl and a rcforall 2204 bl motor.
i fitted a 8x6 prop and it gives really great lift with the motor causing it to spin because of the torque roll.
but i dont know how to stop the torque roll. i was thinking of adding 4 vertical stabilizers.
any suggestions.

vertical stabilizers may do the job (but i doubt) so like hellies use gyro etc to counteract the spin of the vehicle
all it takes is wings to touch d sky....

verticle stabs at an angle to the verticle should do the job for you..but you may have to use the hit & trial method to adjust the correct angle of the stab with the verticle to counteract the torque otherwise the bowl will still rotate(same or opposite sense).

The limitation being that this can be done for a particular rpm only...so as to say your model will not rotate only in a small range of rpm of the motor...anything less or more and the torque and the balancing torque will not be in equilibrium causing a rotation.

I am not sure if this would work. Why not have guided vanes around the surface of the bowl. The guided vanes shall be about 0.5inch high and shall be laid out in a swirling pattern around the bowl. Now, the prop wash should be directed so that it shall counteract the torque roll.

Try it out and see... May be you can use china clay to do the first proto to see if it stabilizes.

i guess i used the wrong terminology...meant vanes only ;D
