Hi to all,

I came accross a 2.4 Ghz MINI CAMERA SYSTEM in web,

LINK : http://www.raidentech.com/24ghzmiwicoc.html

In the above product's description, I see that the format is NTSC (USA), My question is whether it supports Indian DVR systems?

Thanks

Divyam

Most probably not...
Its probably the same thing like xbox games... PAL games won't work on a NTSC system...
Not too sure though

Actually most of the TV sets n stuff sold in India today supports both PAL and NTSC and automatically switches over to the appropriate mode.. Its only those stubborn Americans stuck with their NTSC-only stuff.. ;D
Check if ur DVR supports it though..

With 2.4 GHz Tx/Rx system almost replacing FM, I wonder why 2.4G Video system are not replaced with say 455MHz band ? I have heard  many reports of these 2.4G Video feed interfering with the Control system.

Hope I am not too much diverting from the thread.

I had a similar 1.2ghz wireless camera PAL version and it worked fine . Not to sure wether NTSC would work or not .

both NTSC and PAL work on indian tv,s and players. the option should be available on the settings page of your tv. you can check the tv manual or on any forum to be sure if you do not have the manual.

these systems are also available in local indian markets... go to any local electronics shop and ask for spy cam... it is priced around Rs1500-2000 for the best quality... you can also find cheaper versions... i also bought some of these... quite good video quality...

rajathv8

1500?? thats a good price. isn't it banned to use them? will yo get in trouble if you get caught?

i am not sure.... did not test the range... used it for security purposes... it states 2.4GHz... and yes it is not legal to use in your planes... but people generally buy it for security purposes.... importing the same from US doesn't seem a good option...

SO they are small enough for FPV?

rajathv8

says on the link posted that the range is 450 feet.

RotorZone

These cameras come with a built in transmitter module and their range is very low. Certainly not suitable for FPV. In fact you start losing signal during normal visual flying itself which doesn't exceed 500ft typically.

rajathv8

hmmm... so nopoint using them for flying them.? do they come with onboard data recorders?

anam_funny

no... they do not come with onboard data recorders... and yes.... they are very delicate aswell... i am not sure that they will be able to survive in case of a crash or anything...

rajathv8

will be fun to sneek up on someone in an rc car with the cam though  ;D

Ya 450 feet is kinda crap for FPV for planes.
