hello everyone here i am just trying to get an idea or type of your antenna used with 5.8 ghz vtx ....quality of video and range
here i am putting few choices if you used them then ...discribe your experience with it

this is the newest version from bluestoneairlines

so tell me which one you are using right now and ... what one can expect from them ...right now i am using cheap Chinese clone antenna which is just fine for 500 meters or so ....
thanks
Got MY newest LHCP AIRBLADES 5.8 ghz antenna set from bluestoneairlines today very happy ......I will do testing in a few days I will let you know the results .....
How much did the Airblades cost including shipping?
64+44 dollers. Hahaha it is worth more then MY whole fpv kit .... {:)} {:)}
Wow, thats a lot. What is the advantage of this antenna compared to other cheaper CP antennas.
Those cheap antennas are not tuned to the frequency thay are Just cheap clones of original antennas ...SO they are GOOD for close flying not more then 500-600 meters after that video breaks out every now and then and picture quality is not GOOD enough
ON the other hand VAS ibcrazy guys are antenna specialists they know how TO build a GOOD antenna and impove its performamce
I use ImmersionRC SpiroNet Antenna V2 from HK, they cost about 65$ shipped. I have flown out to 1.5km with good video. I suppose the Air blades would be better but with 5.8 I suppose the investment for better range would be better spent on a 1.2 system.
The advantages of 5.8 would be, is its legality and the miniaturisation of the antenna, while the range comes at a cost despite powerful tx. 1.2 has good punch and range for a similar size/power tx, but at the cost of antenna size (which matters quite a lot for especially on a mini quad) and its legality. Building your own can save a lot of $$
Im new to FPV stuff ??? ???....but soon planning to get into it
so can some one explain the following terms in simple language if possible....
1> RHCP Antenna and LHCP Antenna.
2> SMA and RP SMA....
RHCL - right hand circularly polarized antenna
LHCP- left hand. ..,............................
Think of it as a drill bit one which CAN drill a hole in clock wise direction is right hand polarize. ....
ON both sides you have to use same polarization amtennas otherwise it won't world
SMA. And RPSMA are connector types for video tx and t. ..... look for pictures in google .... both come in male and female types ....
SO 1.2 ghz system is legal or illigal in India? ?? I am comfused ...
@madaquif I'm not an expert so this is my layman's understanding, LHCP and RHCP are pretty much the same except for the direction. By direction I mean the signal is radiated in a spiral or corkscrew pattern. RHCP clockwise and LHCP anti-clock wise. The reason for this is to reduce multipath interference.
When the video signal is traveling to the RX, it can sometimes bounce off buildings or other objects and then enter the RX. This is a problem and is known as multipath interference.
CP antennas reduce this problem because of the corkscrew signal pattern. Signals from the TX can only enter the RX if the direction of rotation is the same. When the signal hits a building the rotation reverses and is not excepted by the RX.
I hope I have not confused you with my poor explanation.
Illegal in the terms of unregistered from the authorities to use it. 2.4 & 5.8 are deregulated as they are allocated for WiFi instruments. Unless you are registered on the particular frequency other than the these two open bands, it is deemed illegal and could face the music if caught.
And, one more point; don't use your 2.4 control radio if you go for 1.2 video. The control might get cocky, all because of harmonic interference as your model gets further away from the control tx.
Yup but hormonics CAN be filtered using a low pass Filter in that wat you CAN still use 2.4 ghz radio right
Yes, if it is tuned spot on, i.e.,.
yup i have to accept airblade antennas are great immediately noticed the difference
with cheap antenna my video link will drop out frequently for a sec or half ....in every 3-4 min or so
but airblades are clean as it gets.... ....i will push it to its limits when i get my .... tarot OSD delivered at home :hatsoff:
Today I flew 1250 meters with airblade antennas and I have to admit they are really Cleaner through out the return ....no blackouts what SOever shadi few flickers but that is very normal for 5.8 ghz system couldnt.Get better then this
Really pleased thanks VAS and bluestoneairlines
