I have seen many handy slim vr's(2 individual lens )in the market....
m just curious to use them for fpv...
Their is a way by easycap (Av to USB converter) this can be used with smartphone and with the app we can split the video screen side by side for vr which is a best way I found but the
Cons :- there is latency or lag of 100ms
For eliminating this I have an idea of getting a 5 to 6 inch LCD Av fpv monitor...but am glad to know if this have the feature of splitting screen side by side for enabling it for using with VR
so please let me know if there is something like this lcd
We all know there is quanum diy goggles (feels like fatty on the eyes) but they are not VR it is just a screen with a magnifier kept at 25cm away from eyes... these are different from VR

is it ?
No these are too expensive ...am talking about VR which is based on Google cardboard...just have a look on Samsung VR gear
Or have a look here

you mean something liek this?

I am talking about 2 lens goggles where the video will be splitted side by side just like this
easycap makes high latency in fpv
how about this

as you have a low budget
orelse you can opt for quanams frm hk
@gverma U r correct so I want an av display or some technology which will make the same fpv video played in two window side by side and thus reduce the latency
how u split screen on av screen bro ? thanks
@ cyberhack mate the question is not about budget but to try a more different efficient thing.... a innovative tech
Sir i don't know but asking some technology as I know easycap Android app splits the downlink fpv video side by side and enable us to use with VR
but bro ur using av screen not an android phn screen.
Ya I want to know if some technology will make av screen spilt into 2 and thus using direct av screen will reduce latency
anythng you make should be justified by cost and functionality both you can make a derivative of existing products using cheap stuff and regarding finding a different way out for somethng that exist is like you wont get the replacement parts or sort of stuff but as hobby grade i suggest those goggles rest is up to individual :) :hatsoff:
The link of the VR I posted just costs 2400 which can be used with 4 to 6 inch screens(for now it is designed for smartphone) but any Av display capable of splitting will work with it too
and the cost for display and the head mounting gear and the reliability ? and the rx cost ?? for 6k you are getting a moduled case and a specific factory made quality fpv googles you wont want wires hanging out or any other sort of issues while flying fpv and specifically mounted somethng on your head :P as i said differs person to person ;D
;D;D the VR are slimmer and attractive looking
what abt fpv rx and battery??? bdw what setup do you use nw ? for fpv? as per my experinece you wont love bulky stuff or wires hanging over when you fly :)
guys, i think its more about tech than about it is about the neatness and all. Basically, u want a software that can split the video into 2 fisheye type images so u can use it for fpv right? but including those softwares will make for a huge latency as it will be like a display change not an OSD so that is another factor that makes it not a feasible technology, what you can rather do is take 2 smalled LCD screens. how about that? and if u look up in sites like ebay u can get the googles like the zeiss cinemizer (although discontinued)
or http://www.ebay.in/itm/321452220437?aff_source=Sok-Goog (http://www.ebay.in/itm/321452220437?aff_source=Sok-Goog) or http://www.ebay.in/itm/321432041901?aff_source=Sok-Goog (http://www.ebay.in/itm/321432041901?aff_source=Sok-Goog) where u have 2 small screens and a lens to zoom into the image... so using this tech of combining 2 screens together can be done and we have to make sure that there is equal length of wire con both sides... if u do that there will be no lag in between the screens and it will make it an easier option on the whole...
well neatness doesnt means fashionable always @rathi googles like dominators predators all fatshark and skyzones are best and made for fpv by fpv am reffering to 250 class racer quads and not ap even if ap its good to have everythng in one set getting the google types you showed needs fpv rx to be connected connecting rx to the usb adapter and then connecting it to goggles isnt messy and even you need to carry it separately why not get somethng that is integrated and has everythng build in easy to carry and less of a hassle basically check the fpv googles everyone is using yes if we can make something cheap which gets this all done in one is f9 and as bg is offering all in one fpv goggle for 85$ i dnt thnk its a bad deal :)
@rathi its a nice idea to use 2 small av lcd screen but i didnt get any of that kind anywhere
@cyberhack its too much easy to buy readymade advance things and use them...well i cant find the point of problem if we try to DIY new techs and use them.....i didnt posted this topic to ask suggestion for fpv but to find help and sharing the idea with others...
Too good idea .
Aim ?
To get real 3d view ? Or to get 3d like view ?
For real 3d view you will need 2 cameras in parallel. 2 vtx and 2 screens.
No 3D its ok....but to make a slimmer goggles using VR as they are slimmer than head plays
2 ways
*get 2 small lcd and place them side by side
*get 1 lcd screen that can produce side by side videos in same panel from one source
Hehe I know what your talking about, its called an av multiplexer. No point in using that. I had the same idea which you have about a year ago. Tried a lot of things didn't work out.
Why do u want two side by side videos when feed is coming from one source. Its not going to be 3d either. I hope u understand what ure asking. Two images for each eye is unnecessary if images are going to be same.
Take a black cardboard, make two circular holes, place two 2x lens, mount whole setup in front of a 5 inch display and make a headmount box for it. Going to get same result as with two display. If u want fisheye, use 2.1 lens in camera.
