hi guys, I have been using a servo reversing y harness to run dual elevator servos - but suddenly it seems to have stopped working - when I switch the rx on the servos deflect and jitter all over the place - and do not respond to elevator input at all. I first thought it was a high voltage issue, but both servos are working fine when connected directly.
My question is - is there anyway to use the mixing functions on the futaba T6xap to run dual servos on elevator? I tried the p mix and ailevon function. On the former servo travels in right direction but only one way - either +100 0r -100 but not both. On the ailevon it travels both ways correctly but also activates the ailerons with elevator input. :banghead:
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Connect one elevator servo to channel 2 and the other one to channel 5 (say). Then enable PMIX1 with Master as Channel 2 and Slave as Channel 5. Set the rate as 100% and Switch as ON. That should do it.
You may need to reverse channel 2 and/or channel 5 so that they move together in the desired manner (you can achieve the reversal with setting the rate to -100 also, just play with it until you get it right).
yeah tried exactly that. On the 6xap what happens is that the slave channel goes 100% in the right direction one way but not the other. I.e. it has half the travel of the master - so it returns to neutral but does not travel in the other direct. for Example I have full up elevator (on both el. halves) but full down only on the master.
If there is no programing for dual elevator set up on the 6 xap is there anyone selling a servo reversing y cable locally?
In that case, try enabling PMIX2 also, and do the same thing, except do the rate as -100% (you will have to figure whether PMIX1 is 100% or -100%, and vice versa).
Never had to do this on a Futaba 6ch. Curious as to whether this worked ?
This is easier on the 7channel and higher.
Apparently the radio is a the older (non "super") version, which has only one PMIX :( So the servo reverser is the way to go.
I did test the dual PMIX setup out on a 6EXAP (the super version), and it works.
