I recently got one of these : http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6569
I think its a great product ! With this, I can now charge 2 (3S) battery packs at the same time !
I have a few extra, so if anyone wants it, PM me.

Thanks for the review Gaurav! Mine one the Way!! XT60 version! XT60 rocks! Much smoother than aging Deans...

Yes. i have the XT60 one too. it rocks ! XT60 way better than deans

I desperately wanted this item but my problem is my charger's max balancing port is 5S :D

gauravag

yeah. you need a charger with 6S balanceing in order to use this.

atul_pg

Is there a different option for me here ? Maybe find a 6S to 5S connector or something like that ?

I have been waiting for HC to stock more of these for quite some time, but the stock continues to be in the negative......

Any local store that sells these ?

A lot of guys are changing from deans to these connectors.. I Guess our LHS should start stocking them up now..PankajC why don't you put these items on backorder ?

PankajC

actually the only fear is that when I backorder something, then the entire shipment is put off till the stocks arrive. With a huge backlog its not easy to determine when the order would finally be shipped

true..sorry I shouldn't have suggested that since this happened with me once..totally skipped my mind...I guess LHS is the only option then..

cheers

Sadly XT60 seems to be a HC propriety connector (just like Deans - even when they sell at a premium of $3 a pair, not  many cheap Chinese version exist)and I could not find them in ANY e-bay store. They are ruining at a stock level of (-)900  at HC!! Even I wish to stock up at least a dozen pair.

Deans is a better adopter standard (which does NOT necessarily mean it is better). Many ESCs and lipos come with deans soldered, plus it makes it easy to share stuff on the field.

I do agree Anwar. Deans have seen the Dawn of EP flying. But the bad replicas sans the 'Grooves' make them extremely hard to decouple. A newbie may be lured to use a Screwdriver/Tweezer to separate them and thus shorting the terminals.
As they have been accompanied with most of the decent Lipos, they are most popular on the fields.
I wasn't much keen due to sharing issue, but once I saw  it with Vinay, I changed my opinion. For the while Vinay and myself are XT60 compatible for the sharing. If anybody in the field cordially extend their Lipo for help or take ours, we have both X60 to Deans and X60 to 4mm Bullet converters (home made)

I would strongly suggest XT60 to ones who have not too grown into Deans. Specially for application below 50A.

Less than 10 amps = JST
Less than 60 amps = XT60
More than 60 Amps = 4mm bullets with covers.

This is what my self and ujjwaana have decided. With all the HC stuff now coming with XT60 and bullets and JSTs and NOT deans, and all our batteries are always from and will always be from HC it made more sense for us to stay with them and use them. I have couple of deans(from DExtreme) as well which I am planning to make converters from various battery types in case we want to share with others.

Regarding the twin charge pack, I am using them since 2.5 months now. I in fact dont charge a single battery at all where ever possible. I just wait till there are 2 battery of same size and charge(usually discharged to the same state) and balance charge them using the twin pack. They simply rock.

I am actually now searching for a 2X2S twin pack to charge 2 X 2S lipos. If anyone comes across a good deal on any site, please post it here. Or else I need to create a custom pack.

PankajC

Hmmm.... I still have about 8-9 pairs of 4mm bullets, so I think I shall continue to use these instead of the xt60 or deans - even for 10-15 amp setup

Thats another reason to stick to Deans :(  - these leads have Deans!!!

Well Thanks for this site Anwar, at least now we can say our Indian LHS are better than some West/China RC shops!! They dont have much to offer and just look at their Servo listing. Overrated torque of most of the servos. Guess they have converted numeral that  for pounds and put Kg instead. 10g servo and 12KG/CM torque Lol!!

Anyway, Electronics DIY folks can build such leads in house. The JST-XH male/Female pair are available for Rs 5 for 3 pin (2s) and Rs 6 for 4Pin(3S)!! Some good 16AWG wire, your favorite main discharge connector (Dean/bullet/XT60) Multi purpose PCB and Heatshrink tube and there you go!
