Wow!!! HK Hit the sweet spot yet again. Remind you, the KKMultiCopter board is sold at at least $80 mark, and seeing HK is throwing a genuine Murata Gyro and other good quality SMT components, this board is gonna be a riot. Even if you try to build a Arduino based Quad, the Arduino Mini Pro + Nunchuck + Motion Plus would cost close to $30. This is a steal. Waiting for 12AM tonight  for my Credit Card Cycle to to end.

:) can this be used for a tricopter? Nowadays gyros itself cost 20$

This has really got me itching for trying my hand in quadcopters. But i'm a total noob in this field; will wait for reviews by experienced members. The only thing I understand till now is that now I can afford one :D

And again its not 29$ its 24$ with swarmcode as swarmcode is already out  :giggle:

bokilap

from where do you get the code/programm for quad, for this processor?

For the manual it looks like it comes with the firmware installed; should work right out of the box.

Glad that it got split out of the other thread :

I ordered couple of them.  I am guessing they will "officially" point us to the KK code, or upload their version of the code on HK website itself later on.

This is a very good price... Now I am forced to look into the pricing of my board...  ;D

But to be very frank, HK has done cost cutting here which should not have been done.

1) Use of Atmega48, it given you less space to work, the capacity being so less, you cannot make drastic changes to the firmware now.
2) Has not given more pins, so it cannot be used on any other model other than a quad.

So Preteek, I  would like to correct you here, it can only be used on a Quad, and not on any multi rotor Heli...

there are 2 extra places for pins which are connected to the processor which can be used

The question seems to be only around firmware space, otherwise it seems OK.  For an extra couple of bucks, they could have used a bigger Atmel chip, and save all of us the trouble.

I guess we will soon see DIY hacks that allow for the use of bigger chips.

Yes, I agree with anwar... But what I interpret is that a new board is on its way with a bigger chip. They must have released it to set a benchmark... The cheapest board in the market. Lets see how to upgrade it... But still, How they make it so cheap... They are insane... Salute to them... They are hardly making any money out of it...

I betcha looking at the response (Guess many smaller LHS worldwide just 'Snatched' all the stock), HK would soon come up with V2 of this board, with all the bells and whistles attached.

guys I have seen gud interest in quad copters and autopilot systems on this forum. I have a small Robotics firm and would like to offer to develop sumthing of this sort at very lows cost in INDIA if there is a market for this. Dont expect anything soon, but ive been working on sumthing myself for some time. Dont know if the market has a big requirement of such boards.

Would be nice if you guys would tell me what features would like in a Autopilot board it would be great.
Please also tell me how many ppl would like to have such boards??

Interesting... a heli flybarless controller that has quadcopter control mode out of the box !  Too bad it doesn't have accelerometers.
