Hello folks,

I have this KK blackboard v 5.5 with me that i used for my quad project.
We can also put the board to an airplane to add the feature of auto stabilization. Thats what i was doing all this weekend. However was not able to figure out the wiring between the RX and board.

From what i read on the NexCopter's website is that the OpenAero firmware is designed for with KK + boards, however these appear to be same as KK v 5.5 boards.

It shows wiring for PWM and CPPM mode recievers.

This is what confused me totally.

I am using a RCB 7x and it is a FHSS tx. wonder if the OpenAero Firmware v 1.14 CPPM  or PWM will suite it... :headscratch:

I flashed my blackboard with OpenAero v1.14 and was able to get the gyros working, however what i couldnt do was control the servos from the TX.

Has anyone tried this before?
:help:

I think your radio has PWM so you can use 'PWM Aeroplane V1.14' connection diagram.

From wiki, "PPM(called as CPPM on FRSky Rx) and PWM are two different protocols for radio information. The PPM has the advantage that you can get all the channels information through one port only."

So what it basically means is in PWM you have to use individual ports(channels) on your receiver to control servos, motor etc, while in PPM(CPPM) you only need to use a single port(channel) to control multiple stuff. If you compare both the images you will find only one wire is coming out of receiver in CPPM diagram while a number of wire in PWM diagram.

You didnt mention which firmware did you flash ,so if you had flashed CPPM, you wont be able to get it to work because you are using PWM Tx/rx system.

i recently did this and from what i could say,

1, flash a recent firmware from the repository by connecting online instead of downloading and flashing. use lazy zero tool.
2, in the rcgroups thread they themselves recommend to go for a kk2 LCD board instead of black/blue board. and i have no idea bout advantage of them except    easier interface from LCD.
3.use PWM , make sure you have connected all the wires from RX to board.

thats all ive got, and ive dealt only with KK LCD boards and not the older versions.

Hmm .. sounds convincing...im gaing more confidence about the PWM part. What do RCBazaar folks have to say about this ? :help:
