Hello everyone,
I wanted to check what the other Heli fliers are using to protect their servo cables and other wires from vibration and oil residue. HK does sell some mesh guards, though i havent used look good. Infinity Hobby sells a spiral plastic light weight coil that can be wrapped around the cables.

I fly Raptor, and that is where I would like to protect the cables.

I have done both, and both work good. You can see some of it in the Trex 500 build thread.  The spiral wrap is easier to deal with, you have to properly shrink wrap the ends of the mesh guards, and even then they sometimes tend to slip out.  The mesh guard is harder to clean (if one possibly needs to).

Oil residue is not a big deal in terms of safety, wires getting cut due to rubbing on sharp edges of CF frames is the real issue.  So most people start off their heli builds by sanding the frame to make the edges smooth.

Thanks. I got some Spiral wrap from Infinity - http://www.infinity-hobby.com/main/product_info.php?products_id=5943
Should i wrap it around the full length of all wires ? or only the places where the wire is going to be tied up ?

Also the fit is a little tight on the thicker servo wires, hopefully that will not be a problem...

I use these all the time, even for foamies. They tend to stay bulged out (expanded) around thicker wires, so it is not an issue.

Full length or not is mostly a cosmetic issue, you may get some glitch protection in electrics due to added shielding (this can help reduce servo jitters in some cases).  Many people like their helis to look dark all over the frame area with none of the whitish servo wires visible, so the black wire protectors (both types) easily help achieve that.

I guess, i will use them all wires on my Raptor, full length. They are light, and i think will only add protection to the wires, and glitches.
Thanks Anwar ! BTW i had been struggling with a crazy issue on my Raptor, will post in a seperate thread soon.
