Does anyone know any Balsa wood dealers in Hyderabad? I have tried asking at local timber depots but no one seems to have any idea about this type of wood.

If you are finding it difficult then place an order online. Numerous stores across country stock balsa sheets, planks, booms, etc and in various other forms as well.

Phani, balsa is not grown or sold commonly in our country... Finding balsa with a timber trader is a tall order, you can just hope the timber trader is an aeromodeller as well... balsa finds little use in civil construction in India and is hard to find with timber traders, the lightest wood they know of is Sal which also is not typically available. Your best bet is to order balsa online from a LHS... you can also find some good alternative ply with lotushobby.com for skeletal construction...

Why do you want to use only balsa.insted you can use depron foam to build good quality scratch plane.
