Hi All,

I am building my first Plane out of Coro. I would need all the experts advice to make this thing fly.
Progress so far

I managed to cut the plane parts out of a 4mm Coro sheet.

See image attached
Now the issue in hand is how do I join the main fuselage parts together Should I use the 5 min Epoxy to join these or any other adhesive please suggest.

I think you should use Araldite, its an good epoxy based adhesive and is easily available at any local hardware store.

Buddy... just go to any hardware store... I am sure you know them... ask for Araldite Klear or Fevtide (Pidilite)

u can use Araldite Klear or Fevtite fast as suggested by saurabh!!! but do take care while sticking vertical and horizontal pieces it should be perpendicular!!!

Thanks Ashish, I have already bought 4 packs of Fevitite 5 min epoxy which I will use, but It seems there is a small issue with the cutting I did as the plan was orignally made for 6 mm depron and I used 4mm Coro, it seems as there is some width in between the fuselage joints (cut's) so I guess I will have to insert a little bit of Coro packing to make the joint perpendicular to each other.

The winspan is 35.5 inches

The motor that I am planning to use is with a 9x3.8 prop with 18Amp Esc and 1000mah 3s 1p battery

Another question

Should I stick the main fuselage first and then cut out places for Servo or should I cut the places first and then stick the entire thing together. Is there a process which we need to follow and if there is can someone list out the steps which you guys normally follow while building so that it will be helpfull for a new bee to follow and don't miss out on important things like balancing CG etc.

if ur plan shows where to put servos and if u have them then i would suggest to cut first before sticking the fuselage!!! coz after sticking it will be difficult to mark and cut!!!!!

about CG balancing, it is generally around 30% from the leading edge of the wing but again i fly my plane and see how it behaves  and shift battery accordingly!!!! of course also dont forget to balance ur plane along axis passing through  motor shaft! that is hold ur motor shaft in one hand and tail in another, in this condition ur wing should be horizontal if any side is heavier then u may have to adjust electronics to balance it!!!

thought will share some of my thoughts in this.
1. From the Plan it looks like is a 3D plane and will not suit beginers.
2. Making this plane in 4mm CORO will make it very heavy.
3. It is very much important to stick to the Original designed weight of the plane, in order to enjoy the flying characterestic for which it is designed.
4. the motor that you have chosen is rated for max 8 amps. So on a sfe side u can get a max of 60 Watts. So with this for 3D plane the max, max  weight of the plane can be say 300 grams.
5. With 4mm coro, my guess is that your auw will be close to 400 grams.


so watch out...

The prcedure i normally follow is
1. Mark the CG.
2. Mout the motor, since its postion is fixed.
3. Tempararily place the battery and servos, and adj them so that you get the CG corrcetly. While doing this keep the servos as close as possible to the control surfaces.

I have got this motor (see link below). I want to use the propsaver with this motor but it seems that the shaft is coming out the wrong way. This way the only Option I have is to use the prop adapter but that too won't fit anything that they have provided in the kit even the propeller.

So here are my questions

1.  Can I use the prop saver on this motor in someway?
2.  If there is no other option then how to use the prop adapter? do i need to enlarge the hole on the prop to fit the prop adapter?

On many motors, there are prop adapters that can fit on the other side (screwed directly on to the casing of the motor that rotates). 

The shaft itself can be reversed/shifted in some motors, by removing the circlips. 

Not sure which one is applicable for this particular motor, although the first method would be the easiest (if you see screw holes on the casing).  Just need to find the right adapter.  Hopefully who has dealt with this brand/model will respond without ambiguity.

Yes I am able to fit the prop adapter directly on the bell side (outerbody) of the motor with 4 screws but I thing is that I want to use Prop saver and the only thing I guess left is to reverse the shaft, can someone help me with that

I was not able to remove the circlip on this motor is there a special tool or way to remove that?
