found a DOPE like substance in the local market called " SHEENALAC " (senior here told me it is called BANANA OIL, dont know why??)
i mixed some with thinner and applied on a chuck glider (the ones i got from VC sir)... i got unimaginable satin finish .......( after i sanded it with smooth emery paper and applied 3 coats with successive sanding)
cost me around 350 / 500ml tin (its very thick and has to be mixed with thinner)
does not make much difference in the weight of the plane
tested it with water and fuel ..... makes it fuel and water proof..
will post pics early as possible.... :salute: :salute: :salute:
I think what you are trying to say is "Sand Sealer"
Is this Nitrocellulose lacquer brand named " SHEENALAC "?
Generally Nitrocellulose are prepared by adding cellulose to concentrated nitric acid and then dissolving in acetone. It is not so simple as sounds.
However, the mix is very much inflammable. How much it costs ?
i have mentioned the cost above..... and i guess it is the same as u are saying.... but works best.... for us..
here are some pics
This is thinner based polyurethane
actually I was wrong. It is "Sanding Sealer" ;)
how did u get is so cheap....... its printed i guess :Rs: 140....
they sell it here for 350 but works good...
