All set and done with the shifting, thanks!

I personally am using the Dremel 300 with all accessories and am pretty happy with it, though I've been able to explore only 5% of its capabilities in the last 12 months!

I'm sure you've checked it, however, I thought that you should know that there is a good selection available on ebay.in

By mistake I ended up buying a saw attachment which says compatible with 4000, 8000, 8200 only so was looking for to buy 4000 which is a Chorded version. I am sure 300 is quite enough. But not sure is compatible With saw attachment I have.

Hi,
I bought a dremel couple of months back, and believe me it's not a pleasant experience at all for this beautiful product. First of all the Bosch dealers in Bangalore don't know a bit about Dremel. And they want to simply get rid of dead stock lying in their ware houses since many months.

Secondly even Bosch people know very little, about Dremel.

My Dremel didn't had a Collet in it which was mentioned on the box. First I approached dealer, from where I purchased it, upon his cold response which died out couple of phone calls latter. I decided to contact Bosch. And send them a email, provided on their web site, no response again. After all this and a week latter. I was just watching my dremel still lying in box, unpleasant scene. Than finally decided to contact Bosch again. on the calling their call center, got a number with advice to contact that number which belongs to their in charge of sales in Bangalore. Upon calling that number come to know, that is not in use, again called call center, again new number. Upon calling the number got a response but not so warm, asked to wait for 'some time' untill matter is looked upon. This took another 2 days, Dremel still lying in box. Again called the number, and I was asked to wait again.

I thought I was just cheated by Bosch people, because, my Dremel can't be used with out this collet. One fine morning I decided to open Bosch India's web site and copied all the service related emails available on their site. I thought I might get some response now, but |I was wrong, still no response. Then again thought of giving a call to the number provided by Bosch's call center, The person told me to wait till tomorrow morning, for he busy with something else. But he did called me next day and told me to collect the collet from thesame dealer from where I bought the dremel. OK I forgot the pain of traveling 5 Kms. from my place to collect a collet because I was just thinking of using by Dremel at last. Got the Collet At last.

People Who are thinking what a bore I have been, by writing such a long and Boring story can imagine, easily, what a grind I went through by buying a Dremel.

There is no doubt Dremel is a very famous hand tool, But My Experience with Dremel is that, Availability of Dremel accessories, is very difficult, remember you have to depend on accessories provided by Dremel or cheap replacement which are not so easily available, even in Bangalore where Bosch is head quartered, you can imagine about other places.

"And they want to simply get rid of dead stock lying in their ware houses since many months."

I feel sorry for Akshay, he may be quite right bout the 'dead stock' part. I was quoted Rs.6000/- or so by the Ghy dealer and I got it from Blr for around Rs.5000/- all inclusive. When I told the local dealer about the price difference, he smugly told me, "They are all old stock lying at Chennai and Bangalore".

I guess I am lucky that I received all components for a cheaper price.

I was quoted a sum of  :Rs: 5000 for the diamond wheel but fortunately a friend comming from the states got it for me for $13.
Dremel is a good tool for all hobbiests and i feel Bosch should buck up and tap untapped markets.
There is so much potential. If only they get their game together they would be selling a lot more than what they are.

Yes VC, It's nice if they want to clear dead stock, more interestingly, you ought to get good discounts for, the machine, forced upon dealers by Bosch which hardly ever sells.

And Another word of caution here for Beginners, Remember, Dremel Accessories are very expensive in India as mentioned by flying doc.

Thanks to Manisha and the superb service by Dremel/Bosch. The vendor contacted me and yesterday I picked up two pieces of work station. One for I and another one for another person. The items were door delivered.

However I have a question for Manisha.
Part numbers 24-28 as shown at the instruction manual were not available at both the pieces. These are the clamps, bolt and wing nuts for clamping the work piece on base plate. How do I go about getting these and who do I contact?

Hi Dremel/Manisha,

As 8200-2/28 is not available in India, do you know if some Bosch dealership imports it? I asked one of the authorized Bosch dealers in Gurgaon (Haryana) and he told me that I am talking nonsense. ;D

Do you know any shop/dealer in NCR who keeps the 8200-2/28 kit?

Thank you!

Rao

Hello Dremel,

I have a couple of  Dremel Moto Tools with many  attachments like flexible shaft extension, router attachment, bench press etc and many, many accessories and bits. However  both tools are non functional now because of damaged speed control units. The models are,
1. DREMEL Variable speed moto-tool Model- 395 type- 3. &
2. DREMEL Variable speed moto-tool Model- 395 type -4.

Both Tools were brought from U.S.A and so they work on 110 volts mains supply. They were purchased when they were newly introduced to US market.I used them with a 230 volts to 110 volt converter.

Purchased first was the model 395, type-3 and it served well for many years. But one day I with absent mind connected it directly to the 230 volts mains supply which burned the switch and speed control unit. The fault was mine. So I bought the second Model- 395, type- 4 moto tool. It worked well for sometime and one day it stopped working on its own. I suspect some semiconductors in the switch and speed control unit have blown or opened.

A few months ago I bought a Dremel  MultiPro 7.2 volt Model-770, two speed cordless moto tool from USA. It is ok for small jobs but not as versatile and powerful as the mains powered moto tools. So I wish to know if the speed control units for the above mentioned Model-395 type -3 and type- 4
moto tools could be purchased here in India? If available where in India can I get them.?

Thank you ,
Rao.
