Hi guys,

Need some expert advice here!

We all know that Glues and other things keep falling on our clothes etc while building or repairing. I have CA spots on a lot of my jeans and t-shirt. Just today i poured some CA on my t-shirt(6th t-shirt) which annoyed me and made me start this post. So, How to remove CA from clothes?

Google search told me to use acetone. Has anyone tried it? It is nail polish remover right?

Thank you all!

what ever u do... it does not leave... it hardens and forms a cotton (stone like) piece on ur shirt...

tried ACETONE( pure bottled and the nail polish one) , methanol, kerosene, thinner etc etc.....

better u keep a separate shirt while working with CA.... i lost 5 shirts and 3 jeans ... (they stopped buying new clothes for me in the house....  :banghead: :banghead:)

Better put more CA and create a pattern on the cloth. Like a plane,  heli, dragon, flower etc,
You can actually save your dress.

gusty sir been there..... its not shirt or pants... the CA enters the cloth and glues it self to the skin along with the hair there.....!!

(its like a mini waxing or CAing  :giggle: :giggle:)

How about keeping an old table mat under the apron.

Thinking of Kevlar Bullet Proof Jacket ! :giggle: (even that i think CA will seep through) Best is Not to spill the damn thing

hehe...better safe than sorry; what's worse - your wife getting to know of it, and when the shirt was a gift from one's mum-in-law.

LoL. Love this thread. BTW, when I was in Oman (94-2001) we were the distributors of Loctite. Got a call once that an infant had dropped cyano in her eye, and the eye was glued shut! Checked the helpline - simple solution. Continuous flushing with lukewarm water. Skin absorbs some water, and the bond loosens. Doesn't work on garments though :(

I may sound funny..

I am sure many of us have done this.
Whenever my jeans gets torn in accident, while playing or due to age, i make few more rashes through sandpaper, knife and give it a Damaged Look. >:D >:D

whenever friends ask, i say "Thats style buddy". >:D Other strange people don't even bother your jeans.

I think we should hunt some measure to do with CA jeans.
I like Vishal's idea.

3 bed covers, not less than 6 nos pants and shirts spoiled. This amazing things make special mark on your pants specially when you carefully glue taking the baby on LAP (Like Augustin said) That cannot be made any art except #$%@$ ;D  >:D  :giggle:  ;D

This can be  reused making cowl using that cloth, frame and CA.

So, new canopy, frame are coming with cloths and CA from RCIndia soon.
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.

I do that with food. My family has had so many "exotic dishes" from "unknown countries" whenever the kitchen is to me.

Even i also faced the same situation once in my new jeans..
now it is my workshop dress...

Better we will wait for the day where CA glued jeans become a new trend...  ;)

Are you guys sure there is no way to remove? CA Debonder softens the spot right? CA debonder + acetone should do the job i guess :headscratch:...

Otherwise i just have to hide clothes from my mothers eyes and use it only when i am building.

i have had many issues including leakage  of 1 whole bottle in my jackets pocket ...but yes now i have been wearing  fleece jackets so ca takes some time setting on this material....so i have enough time to use debonder and rub it out .... for cotton use water + debonder as quickly as to can ..this weakens the ca  bonds and eventually it goes off with regular washing
ps: epoxy and ca spill on ur clothes are an identity of every aeromodeller
