Does anyone have any experience with MDF Pine Ply? I want to use it for a boat frame.

A Laser Cutting shop I contacted recommended it's use, saying that wood ply cutting is slow and very expensive.

There is a High Density, and a soft board variety.

Is it expensive? Easy to cut and sand? Which adhesives work well with it?

Thanks

MDF and Ply are mutually exclusive. Plywood, as its name suggests, is (usually) 3 or more layers of wood bonded together. The alternate layers are cross grained for increased strength.

MDF is made ofwood particles compressed with a binding adhesive.  You would  not be able to get in the 2-4 mm thickness required. And, in any case, it would be much too heavy for aeromodelling use.

Thanks Sushil

This is a brand name

It is available from 1.6 to 30 mm

I will be using it for a boat, not a plane. It is 1/3rd the price of wood ply, and laser cutting friendly, taking about 1/3~1/4 the time of plywood, thus cheaper to laser cut

My query was simple: To anyone experienced in it's use:  Easy to cut and sand? Which adhesives work well with it?

The query still stands
