Title: Lite-ply sources
Post by: gauravag on September 30, 2010, 02:10:31 PM
I have been wanting to know a source from where i can get Lite Ply for hobby purposes.
Not the Airplane grade ply, but maybe something less demanding
I need it for other hobby activities like making puzzles, small toys, railroad etc.

I see this kind of wood in commerical products like Jig Saw puzzles, display models etc , but need to know a source from where i can get sheets of this material.

Hopefully this should not be very expensive, and easily available

Thanks !
Gaurav

Thanks Capt.
I was actually looking for local suppliers, since i thought this must be available here. I do not airplane grade ( for which there is a separate thread going already ).
Would prefer to  buy from within India to avoid customs hassles and also do not want it to be so expensive as airplane grade.
Thanks !

Majraj,
In Hyd, HAL and BDL would be good source too. I know of one Indian firm which once upon a time sourced a large lot of Balsa from BDL as the Milan equpt imported by them came in balsa boxes which were sold by BDL later as scrap
