Can we make fuselage of a 1.5kg r/c plane by heigh density coroplast?  ???

Hello Ashwini,
First of all try to reduce the weight of your plane as much as possible. Moreover, yes you could use coroplast, but you would be needing balsa wood or cf rods for providing proper strength since it is fuselage.. i suggest you to go for high density thermocol, styrofoam, or depron sheets that are easily available in market as well as online too. Which plane you are building??

Read about all corro fuselages eg on Avispad. Up to 1.5 Kg no wood used. Just a few corro formers

In fact I have made and am still flying Spadstick of nearly 2 Kg with corro doublers

yeah, if he doubles the coroplast, then it would give good strength. He hasn't mentioned which aircraft he is building.

Hello Sanjay....,
I been looking for coroplast for long but have not found how to buy it......  I am presently at Allahabad and it is difficult to find aeromodelling items here.  Yes have made wings and fuselage out of digh density thermocol... well never found weight of the model an issue as have genially made gliders which can do aeros...... Could u please advice me on what is coroplast and where to find it.  I fould depron to be not of my liking.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

Ok , i m going to make a small rc plane, which have rectrable landing gears. But actully i want to inform all u that my first objective is to make a small rc plane , i m using self made landing gears. I will make them by carbon fiber cloth . In second i will modify it in rectrable landing gears.
I have its hand scratch model on a paper. But still now i am confused to decide its dimenaions (all dimensions and angles) to get its appropriate C.G. . This is a huge challange infront of me.
Can any body help me plz???

I wnt to know by all of you, is C.G. is varying for every second aircraft or its position is always remains same , what ever the dimensions,,, it is not affected???

Cg varies for every plane....usually we take cg on the spar line on the wing chord...and balance both tail and nose till they get equal....while balancing avoid adding weight try to remove things not necessarily required so that u can attain proper cg and also maintain weight while in some cases u might have to add weight

Hello friends.... saw this old thread of mine after a long time.  Yes time has flown by since then.. I have been making fuselages of HD as well as thermocol sheets taken from the Samsung Refrigerator agency (not the HD ones).  I make sure that I give a lining of 1.5 mm ply in the front half of the fuselage and use Glass fiber with epoxy on the insides of the tail section till a couple of inches ahead of the Tailplane.  My Kaiser has had a few nasty landings and also gone in to a big tree when I was coming in for a landing on a new field with gauravag.  Just no damage to the fuselage though the wing dihedral was damaged and repaired by using a reinforcement of a hardwood dihedral angle and epoxy. 

Today I had gone to the local plywood store to buy some wood beedings (used by carpenters for multiple uses) which I use for making dihedral angles and other places which need high strength.  I found one decorative beeding which was being sold as "chinese beeding".  The wood was whitesh to pale yellow but it was very light compared to normal stuff available there.  I got a length of it (.75 in in width and 1/8th of an inch thick - this one cost me Rs 5 per running feet).  This I intend to use as a vertical spar along with my balsa spars for my model as it will provide huge amount of strength to my wings.  Mind you my models weigh about 1.3 kgs to about 2 kgs at 4 feet plus wingspan and are generally powered a but high on the thrust to weight ratio.  I also literally through them around doing whatever little aerobatics I do... Loops, spins, rolls, eights etc etc....

I suggest if anyone has doubt about the strength of his fuselage.... for coros... reinforce it with another sheet of coro to get higher strength.... or use a thin sheet of plywood (1.5 mm thick sheet) or use some light beedings what i found today....

It's a good approach to get more lighter and strength (as you discussed). But I am a beginner. it is much difficult to experiments like you, so I am going with a simple design and material. I am focusing to use coro and carbon fibre materials. I am stuck to determining different types loading because I am not aware about appropriate density of coro, which is used to make plane. ( for giving strength, I am going to use carbon fibre from in side).
by using its density, I can calculate its weight ( for each and every part).
please tell me if some one selling coro and carbon fibre in delhi - ncr, Kanpur, agra .

Well Ashwini,
My suggestion is.... keep it simple.
1.  For the start buy what ever coro you get in 3mm and 4mm sheets.  You may also do what some of my friends do.... i.e. collect hoardings made of coro and use them for making their models.... Do not be too bothered for the weight part of it, as a few 10s of gms do not matter much.  It only matters if your model instead of planned weight of 1 kg suddenly shoots up to 1.5 kgs
2.  Where ever you think you need extra strength laminate two similar sheets of coro and you will find very encouraging results.
3.  For wing spars etc you may get any teak wood cut to your size at the local carpenters wheel saw(wheel size of 6-8 inches).
4.  Keep things simple.... get off the ground first and keep your cost as low as possible.  later after your first few builds you may think of going in for CF rods.  For your information till date I have not used CF rods for anything.
