Post by: spitfire on March 09, 2014, 05:56:46 PM
Any source of microfilm in India?
Or anyone knows any source of nitrate dope which is used to make this film?

Nitrate Dope is basically. Nitro-Cellulose Lacquer (NC Lacquer), it is available at almost all the car paint shops here.

Thanks. By any chance did you try making microfilms using it?

Might need to add a few drops of castor oil.

Spitfire - do you have experience in indoor models ??

Making microfilm requires the delicate touch of a heart surgeon

To make good indoor planes , microfilm is the last step
First get good indoor quality balsa
then get good quality rubber and learn how to strip the rubber to match your prop and airframe
If you can do these first two and even if you cover you planes with Japanese tissue - you will
get 2 mins + duration

Also identify a large enough building for flying these - something like a cinema hall size.

Wow! never came across F1D.
I wonder if you can substitute microfilm, with locally available plastic food wrap? It may be on the heavier side.
