Recently I was working on a tug boat, which I planned to maker of fibreglass, it was my first time, I prepared the mould, fibreglassed partly, but it did not dry.and the release wax also did not worked. now I scrapped the fibreglass from the mould.which damaged some part of the mould.
please suggest me about the release agent, and fibreglass material I should use.
here are some pics
Very nice build, looks you have achieved the shape of hull very perfectly.
Use PVA (at least two coats) with sponge. You can dilute the PVA with water if required.
Later on you can use wax while copying from moulder i.e.(fiberglass to fiberglass)
sir,
where can i get this PVA release agent. I dint know about this
You should get it from the same store where you purchasing fiberglass raw materials.
thanks Maharana Sir, and one more thing, which putty do u use for the mould. I had used the automobile filler, but its very difficult to sand later
You must always try to achieve maximum finish job before applying putty, not too dependent on putty to cover up.
Yes automobile filler are very hard to sand, use NC putty / Asian putty those are used by carpenter and every steel almirah units. easy to sand with water.
