well friends.... the best rubberbands of them all are available every where in every indian city... just go and buy them... What I have used in my long aeromodelling years was the simplest thing.  Go to any cycle shop.... buy a length of cycle valve tube... say a metre long..... tie the ends tight with a thread to make it a closed loop.... make as big a loop as required.... Use it as a rubberband.  It is the best and the cheapest alternative I found...... am still using it.  remember cycle valve tube is a 1-2 mm dia tube used inside the cycle tube air filling valve.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

It's available in RC Bazaar. They have only 2mm, I got one today.

The problem with the valve tube is that it's not elastic enough, sure, it's quite strong, but if you try and stretch it a bit too much, you'll risk breaking your model. Tried and learned, so now i use it only as control rod channels in aeroplanes and boats.
The rubber bands commonly used in aeromodelling is surgical grade elastic. It's mostly used in prosthetic limb attachments.

well.... your view... I have used it for over 15 years and never faced any problems.... we all would like to have high quality wide rubber bands but they are either not available or and not worth the cost at which they are being offered.... so whats wrong in using what is available... replace it ever day of flying if needed... Yes good that people are trying the available things..... that's how the hobby has survived here in India....

shobhit17, you can try using the rubber bands from Staples, they're very good. It costs 250/- for 1kg pack of 4mm rubber bands, about 1000 pieces, I believe. Far cheaper compared to what the hobby shops sell them for.
