Hi, you need not buy any transformer for this. I used my laptop' s charger and connected it to the " E" string of guitar. Works perfectly.

Red wire?
You mean positive?
Is there one in AC?
Come on Aquif, let us not spread wrong ideas!
Tata Sky power adapter works too with E string of guitar.

So does a lipo (2s or 3s)
thanks every body

I would not use a LiPo for this!
Risk of damage to a costly LiPo and even worse, of Battery Fire.
This is because the chances of an accidental short-circuit are too high with these set-ups.
Hi kamal,
you are going in the right way, transformer is perfect for cutting as it heats instantly after switch on. Few things to improve as mentioned above use guitar E string, and yes dont forget to add resistant on both the end of the wire.
I am using the transformer of an old UPS, aprx 5amp 14v, E string
working fine.
thanks nitesh47
nichrome wire is too expensive, now i am looking for element wire
furhter if u know any online cheap source of nichrome wire let me know
kp
But Laptop charger also heats up the E string instantaneously. I asked for the price of such a transformer( built in a box with proper switch and insulation ) , it was 700rs. So I thought of using a charger instead.
Bro u r right, laptop charger is suitable.
he already bought that transformer if he havnt then he could use the laptop charger.
