Hey guys I am planning to built an RC plane with wing span around 2.4m and chord length 35 cms. Could you pls suggest some materials for its struts. Balsa Doesn't work. I tried. It creates lot bending and twisting!!

Thanks!!

struts for what use?
When you fly electric, fly clean, fly quiet, and fly safe!

Carbon fiber rod is the best option IMO.

My friend why have you listed it on a  " For Sale Thread "

Sorry for posting it here!! havent seen it.

I meant spars for the wing!!

what balsa does not work?
Have you looked at your design? The very fact that your wing is bending and twisting indicates poor design.
Again wingspan is just one part of the equation, what is the fuse size weight? You have to plan the entire thing to do the intended job

My mistake. Its about spars. Fuselage length is around 1.2m. Balsa wood spars doesn't give much strength. Bending happens at the ends. IS thr anything else which we can use instead of balsa??

Redisgn your wing structure, that is just one way.
And as said carbon fibre is another, you ould various other material as long as it suits your purpose (which you know the best)

Check the below link, he has used carbon fibre rod for wing construction.

Even i have made wing using carbon fibre rod, but i have used it only on leading edge.
I have attached few pics of my wing.

Don't make out any much drooping at the wing tips. Once launched the wing will be ok. Important thing with the wing would be to make sure its not warped or twisted at any point along its length.
