which foam is this can we make any component of a rc plane from this the airfoil et.c. this is seriously bendable you can see it in the 3rd pic my father got it for his work for 480/- per sheet its 10mm thick
some more pics
its me on all those pics
I'm afraid you can't really use this foam to construct any RC component. This has no rigidity and unlike epp this is very heavy so you can't build those foamies that people construct out of epp.
Well you could line the inside of your plane with this foam(Only the place where you keep electronics). Will give them a soft place to work in and this could save them when if you crash :). Though it might add some weight to your plane.
its packaging material you cant get strength as depron
Hello to all My father just got me another example of a foam It is one and a half inch thick it is very strong, pretty much indestructible and very very light. I was actually playing football with and it I banged it with full force on the ground and nothing happened. I think it is EPP. It has so many bubble type of things and contains a lot of air in it. Can anyone show me an example piece of EPP. If anyone has EPP can they just post a pic of it over here.

I found out that this stuff absorbs water but floats on water without any problem
I just gave it for a glue test and waiting for the glue to dry I used Lapoquick which is a CA and used Lapogrip which is like fevibond.
When I applied lapogrip to it I saw some threadlike thing coming out. but I still stuck it. When I applied Lapoquick there was no thread like thing coming out but it stink\ed bad don't know why.
eagerly waiting for it to dry
I think it is called EEP, not quite sure.
But have tried this, it is very flexible. it cannot be smoothed also.
you cannot use this in rc.
You can cover your lipo, will save it in a crash. you can use it as shock absorber.
I think it is epp as I saw many pics on the net and they somewhat resemble this one. However I did a quick search on eep foam and found that many guys made planes using this one.
I think I should go to rcforall and compare my foam with theirs.
