I'm trying to procure some 3mm plywood sheet in Bangalore, for a 30'' boat build; until now, no luck. I'm not able to find anything less than 4mm in ply.
Any links, phone numbers or addresses would be greatly helpful. :help:
Also, suggestions on alternatives for 3mm ply are open.
Balsa is too expensive for me and sun board is the last material I want to use.
You couldn't be serious
Why? ???
with my little exp. of building but seen large collection of different builds, the sun board is most suitable for the boat building. Search forum for the boat build's posted by Roopesh Sir using sun board.
I didn't mean to say Sun board is not good to work with, I've built a lot of stuff with it. I want to try working with wood for once. :D
If all else fails, I'll just go with Sunboard.

Why? ???
1. Sunboard is excellent for the skins. You can use ply for the bulkheads
2. It is impossible that 3 mm Ply is not sold in Bangalore. Go to the market where wood is sold and take a walk
I tried a lot of places this entire week, the market areas too. Not able to find.
Every carpenter I consulted for suggestions, told me 3mm thickness wont available in ply and that it starts with 4mm. I've seen 3mm ply, though.
And one guy tried to convince me on buying 3mm particle board saying it's ply. :giggle:
Model aircraft grade plywood is available with sphere hobbies. Ive bought some, and its good. They mention a minimum order quantity on their website.
Western India Plywoods makes aircraft ply, they are based out of kerala but may have dealers here in Bangalore.
Thanks Kodava, I'll check on it. Recently, I managed to find a local source for 2 and 3mm ply, not model grade though.
Found a 3mm plywood source in Bangalore, the dealer is based close to Banaswadi. His name is Anand, you can contact him on 09845084633.
He sells regular plywood, not model grade stuff.
