Can anyone help with a place to get a 16mhz crystal capacitor for the gw9958 board?

What kind of electronic component shop would keep them (mobile repair shop or a electronic repair shop) and what would they call it in their lingo (if its named differently for our local engineers)?

They are easily available. But they come in different dimensions. Would you let me know the pin spacing? I am quite certain I could get one (or more) for you.

Hi Sushil,

Just wanted to add that the above picture is of the exact board on which the crystal needs to be placed.

Hi All,

I was able to get the crystal from a local shop, had to look at quite a few places and see surprised faces for what i was asking, but at the end the mission was successful. Now i am trying to look for how to solder at such a tiny spot, got myself a pointed solder iron, but even then it looks a very difficult job.

If you got it from an electronics (not electrical) shop, he might also be stocking an appropriate soldering iron for such spots. Something basic like a Max 550 should do the job well. http://www.maxtechnoindia.com/product.htm. I may be visiting the Noida field Wednesday morning, can confirm tomorrow; if it suits, get the board ~7.00-7.30 am.

Hi Girish,

Thanks for the details, I got the spot soldering iron but its even hard to see the spots with naked eye (at least difficult for me), I will try to visit a nearby mobile repairing store and ask them to handle this for me if possible. But do let me know if you would be coming to the noida field, if not for soldering, i may just drop by and get a feel of the field (never been to a flying field so far).
