I have a metal coaxial 3 channel Helicopter. One of its motors is burnt out and needs replacement. From the internet sources I came to know that it employs 180 motor with pinion.
I want to ask if this is correct and do someone has the motor to spare. What is 180 motor??

Dear Aditya and banboy,

I am at pune and will reach mumbai in the evening. I will post the pictures of motor then. The difference between the two motors is the shaft length. Thanks both of you.

Dear Aditya and Banboy,

Following are snaps of the motors. It seems both the motors have gone bad. One of them rotates with jerk and other not at all. I dont intend to repair them.  Hope you can help.

I had a bunch of Co-axials, and I tried searching for these kinda motors every possible place in India without luck.
Finally ordered one from www.xenonproject.com
If you order, it usually takes around 10 to 15 days for the package to arrive.

OR

You can try with rotor.co.in
I seen they had a bunch of 180's with them, but that was around 3 years back..
Money flies when the transmitter is ON...

try cleaning those gears   and
If u are aware of parts inside a motor ....... and
IF IT  IS  A  " BRUSHED "  MOTOR  then there is some problem with the supply of power in the inside ....(as you told it is giving jerks)

IF you have ever opened a DC motor (small) and confident open this one and check for such problem and

You  can REPLACE it easily with the brush  from the motors  in  small toys all around us.

I tried to look inside the motor but it is not allowing me to do so without irreversible destruction. :banghead:  Thanks all for your suggestions.  :thanks:

Anyway, I have something interesting coming up so I am giving up on this heli. Moderator can close the thread.
