Welcome to RCIndia. :)

You need to mention your budget first. You seem like a beginner.Nitro is not exactly beginner friendly. If you have people around your house willing to help you,it might be okay. Also, nitro cars require more maintenance than electric ones.If you are comfortable working with engines and have someone to guide you,you can move on.

First of all,we need to know your budget. Then,we need to know if you want to race or bash. Please read through the wiki(http://www.rcindia.org/wiki/Main_Page) and do some more research before asking such a vague question. :)

I am an electrical engineering student. So it won't be much difficult to handle the engines.I've been studying rc nitro cars on the internet from years. But parents are not buying me one.Budget around-7000 Rs.Used one atleast. :) :)

For :Rs: 7,000,a used nitro vehicle seems hard to me.I would say you wait a little more and get a vehicle. Also, don't do this against the will of your parents.Convince them if possible. If they want educational value, its there.

Chandan where do you stay - please drop a pm.

Owning a buggy is not a simple task - as you drive you will break things so think about the cost of spares also.
I just bought a elecrtic truggy recently - i had a tight budget too. I saved part of this money for spares and repairs. You will need money for glow starter, fuel etc.

I dismantled my buggy and realized that there are a million things that could have been damaged. Thankfully the seller was a trustworthy person. So be carefull while dealing with second hand - specially nitro.

For that budget it will be hard to get a good model. And for such a price if you get an offer you need to be really carefull!

Hope i didnt scare you.

OK.. THANK YOU :) :) SO FOR 7000 :Rs: CAN I GET an electric rc car???

Divyam

Yes, much more easily.. A small brushed setup costs much lesser than MOST nitro setups :)

Adding to what rajath has said, even i was considering a used nitro. There are simply too many things which can go wrong with the engine if not treated well in the initial few runs. For a beginner it is almost impossible to identify these problems. Also take into consideration recurring costs in terms of Fuel, air filter oil (cheap),breakages etc. Look around in the "For Sale" section if you find a good deal. However i advice you to buy a used car only if you are sure about the credibility of the seller.

7K seems to be hard. For nitro seconds, you must need to have atleast 10K+. Else the car may be a low end one or a writeoff.

Also, guys please dont scare people saying nitro is not friendly for begginers. Thats not true. You need to know what you are doing. I started nitro.

Most of them meet up at the track in JP nagar. I havent been there yet :D.  There was a person selling a duratrax eveder ST for 6k incl a charger and 1500mah Nmh. It had a missing gear cover.

Check this:

Carefully read the posts, others view and research online about this. I feel its not worth going for a brushed setup. If you still want this i chan give you his mail id. Let me know.
