Looking for an absolute beginners glider for experimenting . Also since I have no previous experience want to know what are the things i should check for to ensure the glider is in decent working condition. I can pick up from Mumbai or Bangalore

Better check with your local club or something if you do not have any idea where to start.
there is nothing as absolute beginner glider as all of them listed above needs little expertise and may end in tragedy if used incorrectly.
if you are lucky enough you can get one from your local club for cheaper price plus free training.

Edit: its available instock in ebay.

Thanks ponappa. I saw the 1 you recommended at RC bazaar last weekend. They were just unpacking it then. But looked a bit too big..

Btw.. That's what I need "a survivor" :D

@v2 eagle I don't have a clue bout local clubs here

Nithinraj recommended small planes like multiplex fox free flight foam glider or hobbyking foam glider.. .i was thinking bout buying one of these cause if its small I can maybe practice inside city ..before going for bigger planes..

Another recommendation I got from chintal was a coroplast plane ...

I'm confused now ! Any help for making a decision will be much appreciated :)

Hi
Consider that there are 3 types of aero modelling - Static and scale, Gliders and free flight and Remote Control [control line has become redundant]
If you want to fly RC first go for a flight simulator, practice on computer simulation, then buy [expensive], build your own [satisfying] and enjoy.
In Bangalore there are 3 places that I know of where you can practice RC flying [not in the city except for Jakkur Airfield Flying Club] Hoskote and Bannerghatta. Edall has a training scheme, RC Bazaar knows about Bannerghatta and you can check with RC Dhamaka or google Hoskote [ lots of us go to Hoskote on Sundays and you are welcome to visit ]

Serial crasher,
As refereed above by Ponappa,
Easystar, Skysurfer are best , time tested and widely accepted Beginners models, they have great gliding capabilities. They are lot more forgiving, and can takes lot of beating.
Bigger are better in planes.Easy to control and visible from long distances, smaller are little tricky to control.(except some).
According to my view, Your first plane should be ready made and not handmade. once you get the basics and some flight experience you are ready to make your Own model with Coro, depron, thermacol, biofoam etc.
Russ-40 Trainer, Mr.moss, Pushler, Skysurfer, Mugi , F-22, Red swan, Xtra-300, redfury, flying mantaray.

Congrats !!!! On the Skysurfer... RCBazaar? Did see they have the 11.7v 3c Lipo for this model. Make sure of the CG before you power up and fly. Do a couple of throws without switching the lipos. see that she/[He] glides :D.

Ohh so no Transmitter/Rx ? Did you try Edall

Thanks I didn't  know bout Edall will check out. Hope they are open tomorrow  ;D.Btw is this good for an absolute beginner like me ? I was thinking bout getting a Futaba though. any info where I can get this in Bangalore ? RC bazaar said they don't get Futaba .Or maybe an Avionic (from RC bazaar they said they will get it soon)then can I do a buddy chord with any other brand radio ?

Yup the Skysurfer from RC Bazaar. Dunno bout this Lipo, they said it will take some time ...

Btw my X6 in flight. It's very nippy but getting a hang of it  ;D

X 6 Flight looks like fun

RC Dhamaka may have Futaba...

The turnagy is value for money ! You can do a Buddy chord with it.

Serial crasher

Thanks Mr. Ponappa . I will be evaluating this and hoping to have a full kit and start flying soon.

One thing the X6 did was helped me overcome panic ! Can do flips /hover now. But still working on landing

Cut up a kitchen cleaning sponge and stick it underneath as landing gear. Happy soft landings !!!

Serial crasher

That's a nice idea if it lands straight. But Sometimes it decides to land flipped. Not that I have anything to do with it...yet ..  >:D

I wish he'd take that advice of using a flight sim before launching $$$. Maybe that's why he's called "Serial crasher" :-)

I definitely agree with the Turnigy TX gear. I've seen and heard of too many flyers who buy all the best gear (Futaba), smash up a few planes and then try to sell all their equipment. Like a car, new equipment depreciates fast.
