MK has nearly stopped producing nearly most of their Kits.
* Multiplex EasyStar II * JR XG8 * Phoenix Tiger 60 * 1/8 Truggy * Multiplex Xeno Uni *

Kartik,not nearly but totally
If you find some MK kit being sold it is from older production runs. They do turn up for sale on ebay and get sold for astronomical sums of minimum 400-500 USD each.
You can check with Singahobby they may still have some kit but be ready to pay a bomb too
If you are really into scale you should be here. www.rcscalebuilder.com

Agree with you capt. totally, mentioned "nearly" as some people think that they still produce the kits as they are available in some parts of world, did not want to argue with them and waste my time.

Ujjwal,
To answer your query you need to ask people who started in this hobby may be 10 -12 years back. They would be able to tell you what these kits meant. Today they are collectors items and highly prized, I have been after some of them and could not afford them. I still have my eyes peeled wide open for any good deals.
Just to throw some light these were kits made in Japan and were famous for thier cutting quality, wood quality and hardwares supplied. I have recently acquired a Japanese kit which was manufactured in 1971 and man the rubber wheels are still as soft/hard as they must have been when manufactured. And to top it all this was not the top of line manufacturer from Japan, So you can imagine the quality a top of the line kit would have

Thats I asked this FlyingBoxCar ... these 'Old is Gold' is there in most of the hobbies - like old 1940-70 German/Russian Manual Focus Lens's glass is unmatched. I usually prowl e-bay in my free time and knowing these thing helps. I recently bought a super Tele Lens (400mm) on E-bay for $325 which was discontinued, and the modern day equivalent cost over $1200.

Thanks for revealing the details...

Yes, the harder it is to get more strong the desire to acquire one such. As I have said on another forum, "there is avery thin line between this hobby and mental illness"

I am working on acquiring a Curare 40 kit (MK) from a friend who stopped flying 20 years ago. It's lying doing nothing. Let's hope for the best!

Contact Singapore Hobbies. When I visited last, I picked up 3 kits, a Zlin Akrobat, Akro 1204 (PILOT) and a CG Super Chipmunk (now with Captain). He had a MAGIC 60 which was a later version of the CURARE which he was willing to give me with a VF DF engine (this was a rear inlet and exhaust engine from OS which was a powerhouse) and tuned pipe for a very reasonable price. He was surprised to find someone - in today's times - still interested in kit building. This kit was by MK.

But that was quite some time - years - ago. See if you luck out. Good luck!
