Hello,
Iam making a 6kg combat robot for some interschool and various other competitions.I was looking for a wireless drill motor 12v but itwas costly. What doyou suggest? And am ready to buy 2 of them.

It is the pervading law of all things organic and inorganic,
Of all things physical and metaphysical,
Of all things human and all things super-human,
Of all true manifestations of the head,
Of the heart, of the soul,
That the life is recognizable in its expression,
That form ever follows function. This is the law.

You can get jhonson geared motors for that: http://www.vegarobokit.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=35_39
I use them. If you are making a combat robot, have atleast four wheels.

Nice robot. What is it's weight? Weight includes battery?
And I am aiming to make a wireless combat bot this time already had made a wires bot and wasnt impressed, people try to brake your wires. :(

Wireless robots(if you are not willing to spend a fortune) will always be less powerful than wired robots. This is simply down to the fact that in a wired bot you can supply as much power to the robot as required and control circuits are much simpler, hence more robust. My robot participates in 4-10kg class. I just use some iron slabs to change its weight.

I have found a bettery motor, which I can get for almost Rs.900. Its Original price is 29.9$ USD + shipping..
I can get it for Rs.900. :)
See the torque :o ;)

Anyway, I also want to add a flipper or a horizontal cutter/blade. I have Brushless dc motor or the same motor as above. what I need to buy for it?

last rites ,    you can start a new thread and  post  the details and build logs  of  your  combat   bots .....   :hatsoff:

would  help  others  and  also  some one may get , new ideas of application   and such  .....   ;D

Rahulvyas

Hmm, Even I will do that too. I previously made a Combat robot of about 1.6kg. But it is good enough to defeat 4kg bot :D

Here are some basic battle bot building tips:
1)The chassis is the most important part. A sturdy chassis can make the difference between a win and a loss.
2)Locomotion. Spend the bulk of your budget on locomotion. Here more the merrier, i.e., more wheels=better traction. My bot has six wheels and all of them are level.
3) Always follow the motto :KISS (Keep It Simple Silly). Never populate your bot with all the weapons you can think of as this would increase your points of possible malfunction.
Above all have fun :D

Bilal

hello guys,
am planning to enter in the robowars event at IIT-B, in the 60kg class, but am unable to find suitable motors....... can someone here suggest what motors should i use, the robot is essentially a Biohazard hybrid with an added cylindrical spinner. I'll be using 4" wheels and there would be four powered wheels. Initially I decided to use car viper motors but they have very less rpm and due to skid steering, they restrict the maneuverability of the bot, so is there any alternative available?.... And please do not suggest Ampflow or like motors as we are not in a condition of importing the motors, it needs to be locally available, shipping in india isn't an issue.

Mods: I posted in this thread due to similarity of the topic, if needed kindly separate the query into a new thread

no idea, never built such a heavy machine sorry
and why are you doing a spinning mechanism? you should go with the 4 bar linkage as in bio hazard with linear actuators

Rahul Sir,
am not eliminating the four bar lifter, what would be the point of choosing biohazard if I'll remove its best part.... the spinner would be on the opposite end, at the back of the bot

hahah , amazing idea Bilal. good luck finding the motors.
I think you should contact lastrites, he has built many of such bots.

linear actuators are available in the market. robotmarketplace.com , robotshop.com
but i dont know about local stores in India, maybe try hydraulics if easy for you

Bilal use maruti wiper motors good and cheap but need modifications....u get very good power .....btw. a query Rahul r u in 10 th class or its old status

Another good place to fish for good, cheap motors of all types is Meena Bazaar, right next to Jama Masjid, Delhi

High current needs -> Make an H bridge using mosfets, use relays. Plenty of quick and easy ways! :D
