I have upgraded flysky 9x transmitter for sale
Upgrades are
1) Djt module for extended range and reliability of connection ( range of djt module 1.5 to 2.5 km )
2) New MAIN board version 1.5 having atmel 128 processor
3) Er9x firmware
4) White backlight (looks cool than blue and green colours) with extra switch for On and Off.
5) 2s 7.4volt lithium ion 2600mah battery (batteries are orderd from Robu.in)

have you upgraded your module?
if yes, the how much the range has been increased? i'm planning to buy a DJT module. is it worth to update this transmiter?
please help me with your experience.

Yes with stock flysky module gives me only 500m range on beach where there is minimum interference.
After upgrading with frsky module i have measure it up to 1.9 km range on beach again.
But still not tried of 2.5 km range.
This max 2.5 km range also can be increased with patch antenna on frsky module.

absolutely  worth it.......earlier I used to experience a lots of glitches/signal loss (sometimes at around 200-250 ft) crashed my models many times because of this.

after upgrading to DJT module....not a single glitch/signal loss....happy landings....

with respect to range.....I always fly line of sight....so I never ever had issues....

What is DJT, XJT etc in frsky Rx? One better then the other? Also with er9x and one of these modules on fsth9x, does it support basic telemetry or do we have another firmware to support it?

djt, Xjt, are frsky (freesky)are jr tx back socket removable type module.
And both these module works with er9x or opentx firmware.
And they support telemetry but you need telemetry support Rx also
