Absolutely! a forum member got into trouble when custom guys googled and found the real cost, forget about getting the item, getting HIM out of it was like, herculean task (He cant be seen these days, may be after this episode he quit the hobby)

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

Then I got to start declaring the full value from now :P
I have no qualms about paying any taxes or such where they are due but the customs guys create trouble if they see a high value item. Then there is the post-office where sometimes things go missing if they are expensive..
It is the pervading law of all things organic and inorganic,
Of all things physical and metaphysical,
Of all things human and all things super-human,
Of all true manifestations of the head,
Of the heart, of the soul,
That the life is recognizable in its expression,
That form ever follows function. This is the law.

Here is the screenshot of my problem as you can see i am unable to declare lesser value on the site.
Even after registering.

paladugu_sujith

u dont need to.. for 27 $ u wont be charged customs. only over 2000 rs is wht u will be charged.

Shehwar

That is just a sample. The point is that i am unable to use the declaration facility.
My actual order is well over a 100$.  :'(

paladugu_sujith

i think first order in hk has to be a full value declaration.

Shehwar

 :banghead:

can you imagine what problems i'll go thru ???
I ordered my motors & Simon K firmware ESC from RCTIMER.
I had declared a value of 40$ and they charged me 24.71% customs .
The same on 126.79$ is 31$ approx 2k

paladugu_sujith

true. but the easy way is to order small amounts initially .. may be 1 motor and 1 esc . for ur quad.. and the second order with the remaining.. with low declared value.
