NOTE :  If you manage to get a neck strap. please make a note carefully that when you hang the tx, it is clear that the throttle stick will move a little which can lead to accident, if plane is not handled carefully. since the the CG of turnigh 9x is not at the centre and will tilt towards the battery side. This was seen on Sunday when Saurabh was using his turnigy tx on his plane.

hi guys,
I tried a neck strap when I bought my futaba tx and found exactly all the above and that was with heli's.
if you have a throttle cut/hold switch it would not be too bad, but I got on better with a long wrist strap and attached it to the tx handle but even that was awkward,,,,,,,,,,,,not not many use neck strap..............only those with the large £1000+ prof tx .......... I wonder why????
I found it to be a recipe for disaster.........get a tx stand instead,
you will not drop it unless you try fiddling with model while holding tx in one hand

Quite the opposite experience for me. Practically everyone who uses pinch-hold on our field uses a neck strap.  For the thumb-hold folks, vast majority of them also use neck straps.  Most people go for the balancers within a short while of getting their radios, as the risk is genuine for throttle to get bumped.  Judicious use of "throttle hold" for helis, and securing planes until ready for take off seems to be how people were getting around the risk.

People see other advantages with neckstraps that seem to outweigh this concern.

Here is a link to one of the neck strap balancers :

Strangely, they have put a Futaba balancer on a JR radio :headscratch:

PS: I got the balancer for my radio when Capt Manish sold one (as he got the wrong one) !

hi guys,
next question is........................... why is the mounting not put in a ballanced position origional??
they obviously want you to use a strap and then put the mounting place central instead of ballanced position!!

The newer "native" 2.4Ghz radios are better balanced.  The earlier Mhz ones would also balance pretty well when their long antennas are extended out.

It is the module based ones which were designed for Mhz but converted to Ghz with modules... those are the ones that suffer significantly from this issue. Many common non-module based 2.4Ghz radios (like the Spektrum DX7 and Futaba 7C) also are unbalanced because the original design is based on a Mhz radio.
