Hi,
Please check http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1117173 for info about a DIY 2.4GHz Antenna. A simple way out would be to calculate the antenna dimensions for a dipole (468/freq). This will give the antenna dimension for the total antenna. You can use half the lenght since its only for a receiver although a full halfwave dipole with the other wire connected to the battery ground for better performance.
Hope this helps

As you see i am refering to sattelite antenna and not the original one. original is already connected to receiver. but has range issue
