I'm looking for a 12 V, 10~12 A Brushed Motor with high RPM (1000 KV or so) for my Neptune 23" boat.

Any leads much appreciated.

I cannot use a Brushless because of cooling issues

Thanks

arun.sreelakam

Sanjay sir the brushed motors inside the auto lock actuators of car are very powerfull..
They are 12v and more than 1000 rpm..

Thanks Arun! Your answer came in almost before I had finished typing :D

I think I have one of these, but doubt it would be enough????

lastRites

No they will not be :P They are very slow and inefficient anyways..
Look for these: http://www.vegarobokit.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=35_49&product_id=169
The picture is not of the actual motor. These are VERY powerful.
I may have a few laying around somewhere. I will try and get a picture on here by tonight. But cooling is a must for these if you want them to last. Alternatively you may run them at lower voltage.

Already checked with them: 35000 is not in stock, 18,000 RPM is. Any idea of current draw/suitable ESC?

sanjayrai55

How to cool it? A coil is very inefficient, and it's not feasible to put a cooling case on it ???

sanjayrai55

OK: the 18000 RPM motor is 12 V and 1 amp = 12 W max. Too little!

OK, I've found this company in Bangalore

Anyone heard of them or dealt with them?

sanjayrai55

I am getting this from Robokits, will try it out

25000RPM DC Motor 12V
25000RPM no load speed at 12V No Load Current - 1A, Stall Current - 10A 0.36Kgcm torque

Yes they are quite good! Very good power and efficiency. I have loads of them ;D But they are 18k rpm usually. The specs are for the 18k ones. They draw 11.1A at stall at 12.4V. I have put them through hell and still work. There are two kinds. One is from "Mabuchi" and the other from "Jhonson". I prefer the later.

I just found two brand new ones in my stash. Those 35k monster ones. They need a 30A brushed ESC. Although I have not tested them under full load(i.e at stall). One of these with a 2s may be enough for you. 3s would be ballistic :P
Willing to part with one. Do you have anything for trade?

The 18k with a gearbox and the 35K.

I only have a 20 A brushed ESC, and only 3S LiPos, What would you like to trade? I have lots  ;D

lastRites

I am afraid that a 20A speed controller just won't do for that motor. It takes an average of 18A at load. Ask VC, as he may have used this motor.
There are other cheap alternative sources of brushed motors. You can get very good quality motors from:
Photocopy machines, Big printers, pumps used in car windshield cleaners.

Maybe I'll just stick with the Robokit motor for now 8-)

santhosh

sanjayrai55

yes, yes yes! Please....more details

santhosh

i dont know more details like rpm etc.... pls check on the web , i  u need  i can send it to you  all brand new
, many people are using this on a 3s set up  .

I have a few GWS EM400's and  Mabuchi RS-380PH if you looking at something bigger.

you could test them out and see if they suit your needs!

sanjayrai55

Thanks spy, but I did get a 500 speed motor
