Does anyone have a turnigy 9x or a flysky 9ch transmitter that is somehow damaged/not working but the main board is functioning? I recently purchased a turnigy 9x but fried by connecting the battery in reverse.

this is a very common mistake people do ... reverse the polarity.....

anyway not much harm.... you can solve by replacing the 5Volt regulator IC....... just ping Kalyanpradhan, Girish Sarwal.

@ayu135:
I thought you were going to replace the cap and VR. Didn't it work?

I'm really busy till 24 May. I'd personally fix the board for you if you wait or can't fix it till then.

I tried fixing it but it got a little messy. I ripped out the tracks while removing the faulty VR. I am still trying to revive it, i replaced the cap and the 5v VR but it turns out the 3.3v one is also damaged so i will try to replace it today. But anyway i wanted to see if anyone had an old or damaged radio which has a working main board i could use it. Also i couldnt find the smd components so i used a normal 7805 and i am planning to do the same with the 3.3v one. I have posted a picture here http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/building-a-quad-as-a-platform-for-research/msg178257/#msg178257

You can get SMD components at Sharma Electronics or S.V. Electronics at the electronics market.

How about this, if you can't revive it, go ahead and complete your quad build and I'll lend you my Futaba 7C for testing (It's got an internal battery, so no worries about blowing it up :) ). Even better, if you can wait a bit, we can use my PC-bluetooth tx-rx for testing.

Just came back from electronics martket, no one has the 3.3v regulator. I'll keep looking.

And thanks a lot for the offer it is very kind of you, i will surely ask for your help if i am unable to revive it. I am really glad to have someone experienced in the same city.
