I guess that's why it's expensive. Is it possible for you to give me his contact number so that I can ask him if he can make a kit for me?

Thanking you in anticipation,

Remember - if you buy a kit, you would also need to buy covering film

Check International websites - a kit is usually the same price or more expensive than an ARF! Don't ask me why :)

I sent him a message asking if he could cut out a kit for me and his reply was that he was making big planes right now and had stopped making the 40 size kits for the time being. He also said that it was pretty hard to get a kit in the market anymore because most of the people were buying ARF planes and whoever wanted a kit cut it out themselves.

Unfortunately I don't have the expertise or the experience to cut out a kit by myself :)

That's very odd. I guess the price is equal because more people want to buy kits instead of ARF planes there.

@K K Iyer

Sir please let me know if you know of anyone else who makes kits.

If you could get hold of a used 25 size engine, and are willing to work in Corro/Balsa/Ply you could make a Scout.

I could arrange a set of wood parts and Landing Gear/Wheels. Won't cost much

Sir for this I need an 0.25 nitro engine? If I can find it then I would love to build this plane. Also will I be able to use a 0.25 engine with a lot of different sized models? Or for those do I need an 0.46 engine?

Also am curious to know what is the difference between an 0.25 engine and 0.46 engine. Could you please explain it to me?

1. a 25 =~ 4 cc; 46 =~ 7.4 cc. 25 means 0.25 cu in engine displacement

In the formula Power = {PLAN . k } P = Brake Mean Effective Pressure ( a function of compression ratio and fuel combustion)  L is swept length (by Piston) A is area (of Piston face )  N is rpm and k is a constant depending on Units used;  L X A is Swept Volume, in this case either 0.25 cu in or 4 cc

2. Far less 25 kits and RTF's in the world today compared to 40-46. Plenty of plans, as many as 40 size. In the 80's 25 was as popular as 40

3. Joginder Singh should have a used 25 engine. Check with him. Even ASP is OK. He will run and check the engine thoroughly before selling

Adel

Thank you for your detailed reply! I have messaged Joginder Singh and am waiting for his reply. Also if I decide to build the scout what all do I need to get? Also do I need to cut out any parts in ply/coro/balsa?

2~2.5 mm Corro & 4 mm Corro. You would need to cut the corro, and some trimming on Balsa/Ply

Sir If I decide to build it then where do I get the plans to cut the Corro? I am guessing that the plans are pretty big so how do I print them to scale on my normal printer? Is there an option for tiled plans like in the FT plans? Are the wings also made of corro? From what I understand you are going to arrange for the wooden parts and landing gear of the plane. So apart from them and the linkage stoppers, servos, Push Rods, what all hardware do I require to build the plane?

Also for some strange reason the pictures in this build log of yours are not getting loaded.  http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/scout-15-adapted-to-corro-electric/

Brief Specs:
Span: 50"
Chord: 9"
Type: Low Winger Sport, aerobatic trainer
AUW: ~ 1.25 Kg

You need long push rods

Any printer will give you option for tiled plans. But better to go to a commercial print shop (who do architectural and engineering drawings) and get 100% scale in a single sheet. In Gurgaon this costs 80-100 Rupees

Hi Sanjay sir,

I have tried to find an 25 size nitro engine but unfortunately nobody has responded to my ads on any WhatsApp groups. However as you know I have found an thunder tiger 46 size engine for a reasonable price.  Just wish the scout was compatible with it so I would not have this problem.  :banghead:

Iyer sir if you know of anyone who has an used 25 size engine please send me his contact details.

Thanking you in anticipation,
