Title: Want to buy a Electric Starter Airplane
Post by: hangingtough on May 14, 2010, 09:50:27 PM
Hi,

I am a heli guy , but now i want to get my son in the RC hobby but he is not interested in Helis.

So i am planning a plane, I love a cessna since my child hood.

I have Battery , TX and RX already so looking for a ARF kind of a deal from a plane lover.

Budget cannot exceed Rs 2K at the moment but i am somewhat negotiable.

Why not build a SPAD? I saw One of my friend here at pune build a spad 4ft wing span with brushless combo from RCforall(sai Sir) a 7.4 lipo and it takes off from ground after 6ft only. The Bird is very gentle and 3 channel one. There is no special thing in it. Just a designed out of the plans from spad world.

The ARF (body only) can be built within Rs.100/- it is a ridiculous price  8-)

Hi, could you post the details of the model that your friend built (a link to the original plans) as well as which brushless combo was used?

Thanks

The combo is not available at RCFORall (sai sir) But you can ask him for ARF weight about 500-600 gms
He will suggest you for the Brush-less motor.ESC prop and battery. it was available with him for approx 1800 rupees (IIRC).

Regarding Plan I don't have it I saw the model and even flew it. It was a Pusher type high-winger
3-channel verymuch analogus to easystar but it is a all coroplast thing. he even had a 4-ch version
( which I have not flown).

hi,

i am currently a little impatient on self build stuff, it requires a lot of time which my current job will not let me have.

So i am looking for a ARF which can be up and running in an hour or so with minimal mods/inputs from the builder.

If that be the case the GWS Slow Stick would fit the bill well any other coro plane will require assembly which will take longer than  an hour.

So if figure out there are not much electric plane flyers in India with some disposable wings.

So again paging a request for a ARF Trainer.

better you go for GWS E-starter available at rotor.co.in......
this will not only act as starter edition but also help you in gaining experience after learning slow stick.
slow stick will be slow as the name given........and will not give you more then learning....
this is my suggestion ..................

E Starter : we also used to keep it earlier but customers responses were mixed  with more negative than positive hence we stopped stocking it .

If you are willing to spend a bit Multiplex Minmag is good , I got some great feed back about it especially from Santosh
