gunnu

hello i want naza system or apm 2.6 system...

anybody have??

SK1701

gunnu

i want cheap.. on ebay.com they apm 2.6 is avaliable with neo 6m compass and power module in 70 dollars. but afraid of custom duty and confused is this genuine or fake or clone here is link. plz check
http://www.ebay.com/itm/APM2-6-ArduPilot-Mega-External-Compass-Flight-Controller-APM-w-Ublox-NEO-6M-GPS-/111512845884?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19f6aefe3c

SK1701

It is almost definitely a clone/ fake. Real 3DR APM units are around 200 dollars. At least the quadkopters one is supposed to be a DiyDrones approved clone. With EBay ones, it is hard to know about the quality. RCNitesh had mentioned that he saw an APM 2.6 auction for $1. Customs should not be too much of a problem unless you order radio equipment like a telemetry set. I am not sure what the duty would be like. Plus, shipping will take a while. I think the quadkopters one is worth the price for reliability and fast shipping. If you are willing to wait and risk quality, you could get one from Ebay. Have you decided between APM and Naza yet?

gunnu

SK1701

Naza is more expensive but comes with excellent out of the box stability. APM requires more setup but I find that it has really cool features such as setting up auto flips on your Tx 2 position switch. If you are interested in aerial photography, go for Naza. Otherwise I would recommend APM or maybe the Crius AIO (has most of the same features).

gunnu

no i am making quad for hobby flying. not yet decided for which purpose should i use??

SK1701

If this is your first quad, I would suggest the kk 2.1. It is easy to use and setup and is good for beginners. It is quite cheap as well (2100 on quadkopters)

sooraj.palakkad

If you have time and knowledge to set up an APM, it is the best option budget wise and performance wise.
If you have big pockets and no time for setting and tuning go for NAZA, don't look back.

gunnu

i already hav  a quad with kk2.1 but i am not satisfied with that. it is not stable. so i decided to make quad with carbon fibre frame and advanced flight controller.

gunnu

which type of set up does apm requires. coz i dont know any type programming. i sold my multiwii coz of programming..

sooraj.palakkad

No such programming is required, but you should have basics, But, If you are a noob there, get NAZA>

cyberhack

u can opt for a cc3d too........... user friendly gui application

sooraj.palakkad

But, do CC3D support all the features of APM or NAZA ?

yeah almost ......................
check this ...
Note: its cheaper than apm ........
CC3D CopterControl Hardware Features
Powerful STM32 32-bit microcontroller running at 90MIPs with 128KB Flash and 20KB RAM.
3-axis high-performance MEMs gyros and 3-axis high-performance MEMs accelerometer.
Tiny 36mmx36mm 4 layer PCB for superior electrical noise reduction and flight performance.
Software support for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Direct high speed USB support with no drivers required, a truly plug and play device.
Spektrum satellite receiver support.
Futaba S-BUS hardware support.
Innovative Flexi-port technology for superior port flexibility.
4Mbits on-board EEPROM for configuration storage.

Flexiport
CopterControl also offers the innovative Flexi-port which provides either I2C connectivity or a second serial port. Flexi-port gives CopterControl the flexibility to use either I2C and a single serial port or dual serial ports, according to your connectivity needs.

Superior user experience
OpenPilot has tried to make your experience with the CC3D as easy and trouble-free as possible. Naturally for a high-end product, the hardware is complete; there is nothing to solder. The included RC harness allows you to connect any standard PWM receiver. All CopterControl boards are tested before shipping and come with bootloader already flashed. A standard mini-USB cable (not included) is used to load the latest firmware and configure everything for your unique airframe.

The OpenPilot project, whist still young, it trying to make Open Source much more user friendly. OpenPilot software is designed to be used by everybody! All major operating systems are supported and install packages are provided. The software is all Free software under the GPLv3 license and not only are you welcome to hack it, but we encourage it!

Sensors and Components
3-axis Gyroscope array and 3-axis Accelerometer: MPU-6000
Supports several common RC inputs: 6 PWM channels, combined PPM, Spektrum/JR DSM2, DSMJ, DSMX satellites, and Futaba S.Bus receivers.
Simultaneous support for multiple receivers.
ReceiverPort functions (configurable): 6 PWM input channels or combined PPM stream, 4 PWM output channels
MainPort functions (configurable): serial telemetry (default), GPS, S.Bus, Spektrum/JR satellites
FlexiPort (configurable): serial telemetry, GPS, Spektrum/JR satellites, or I2C peripherals (under development)

can anybody tell me why 3DR Radio Telemetry Kit 433Mhz , MAVLink-OSD V2.0 is needed in apm is it necessary to use this with apm.

sooraj.palakkad

No Telemetry kit is necessary when you plan using telemetry and OSD is necessary if you want OSD with your FPV.

gunnu

what is purpose of telemetry kit in apm 2.6

sooraj.palakkad

But CC3D has only simple flight controlling, no GPS, Altitude hold no return to home :( .
But it's performance is .
As it is open source, everything will evolve as happened in multiwii and APM , it is only a matter of time I hope. !

sooraj.palakkad

@gunnu, telemetry is just a data link from your multicopter to your ground station, for getting live flight data.the APM sends detailed data about flight controller status and location information from a GPS module over a radio link to the ground station for use with the GS software for flight planning and monitoring.

APM sends data that is intended for use with the ground station for waypoints or completely autonomous flight, by adding a Mavlink OSD you can capture some of that data to be displayed as an overlay on the video stream for FPV flight whether it be through goggles or by a monitor of some sort.

It's advisable to use a Telemetry if you plan to use mission planning and all other advanced features in APM>

@sooraj i thnk u need to update watch this  i juss came across this as u said  no gps and no rth also telemetry is supported i thnk u need to update and do some research ... sry if am wrng :P

sooraj.palakkad

The openpilot CC3D board allows to connect a GPS module. But it does not feature altitude hold or Return to home or way point navigation,. The GPS module is only for aiding location data in telemetry. Thiat is what I know about CC3D, I haven't used this board, but have heard it's stability is superior. People who have experiance with this board please correct if I am wrong.
@cyberhack, Visit this original openpilot wiki : http://wiki.openpilot.org/display/Doc/GPS+Add-on
& yes I made a deep research and comparison through different flight controller platforms (H/W and S/W) and especially opensource ones, before I got in to building a Quad :)
