This is much better. Amit sells reasonable quality stuff

https://www.amitengineeringindia.com/mini-lathe-machine.html

Thank you Sanjay.

I actually connected with him way back in 2017 and again in 2019 Nov. He gave me quotes but prices were very high compared to other importers.

For those you tumble upon this thread to buy a mini lathe. Here are some useful info.

First option. There is only one mini lathe manufacturer in India- Banka machines. Its completely made in India. Other local vendor re-brand this and sell as there own. You can write to them at .

They have both single phase and 3-phase motor with the mini bench version. bed length is 0.5meter with a 0.5HP motor. (The Hp will go down if you opt for a single phase motor). Priced around Rs 69k. Good for average use. You will have to buy the top slides, dog chuck and other accessories with this.

The second option is Ganesh machine tools (Rajkot). He is an importer of heavy machinery. What Amit engineering sales, you can get here at a considerable reduced price. Over the top, the guy is very polite to talk with. You will have to book a machine and he will import it for you in 20-25 days. You can connect with him at .

The third option is to buy directly from china on Aliexpress. This is bit tricky and might not be hassle free given the customs involved. The saving you will have over the second option is of about 5-10K. Also you won't get spare in India. If something fails either you fix it yourself or get it shipped from mainland. Plus side is, there is a wide range of option with different configurations. Prices are good but shipping and custom would make it double of what they show.

I hope this information helps some folks. Keep machining!!
