I bought a Turnigy GTX3 pistol grip radio, figured aeroplane ESCs don't work right with it and I learned that I need a "Pistix adapter" ( http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=msw-pistix&cat=136 )
Or I could simply do away with a car ESC if someone has a 50A up for a sale, can't afford one from HK right now.

Just went through the reviews & discussion on HK. Nothing about ESC. I fail to see why Aeroplane ESCs won't work. BTW, some of the reviews are scary!

aeroplane esc WILL work - again remember the esc cannot tell the difference .

what you have to do is to remove the spring loading from the wheel and make it
linear i.e 0..100 instead of -50..0..+50 - that is used for car and boat esc with reverse

once you do that ... go thru the normal calibration sequence for your chosen esc.

i am sure a guy of your calibre will find this childs play

Sikat bhai, the trigger uses a cam mechanism with just one spring. not possible to modify it.

Also, looks like I've been conned over a radio yet again. This radio has FlySky GT3-B hardware.

No, I asked about it to a friend who owns one, he said it's been working fine with him since a year without trouble. And honestly, I fell for the Turnigy label. Lesson learned.

Well, Im not really sure anymore if I should use this radio on a boat. Although, just found out that the stock module can be replaced with FrSky module which is interestingly tempting. :D
