ETA required for TX/RX, which we don't have.

And the funny thing is the model has ETA on WPC website but it is not accepted by the customs

You may be knowing that FAA approval is one time whereas ETA to be obtained by each importer on their name to get Import license for TX/RX.
This way they can get lot of grease.
To be frank 50K was asked by an agency and one person of that agency is working in the organization which provides the approval.

True, but dont you think that if that model is approved by WPC themselves then ETA should not be required for the same model.

If model is not approved by WPC then ETA is required.

My point is the stupid system that our government agencies are following. Even NOC for 2.4Ghz systems, even if that freq is free to use frequency  still customs as for WPC NOC.

Thats really sad for us!! How do we get Tx then???

Yes, satyaji. It should be one time and should be public like FAA approvals.
The FAA regulations are more stringent than our WPC requirements and simply they could accept FAA certification.
But they don't because similar approvals are required for all WIFI equipments / mobile phones with wifi etc. and lot of grease.

Once WPC has granted ETA for an equipment there is no need to get separate ETA by a different entity/person as long as the equipment specs are same. ETA is available in WPC list and you can seek the same under RTI should you wish to.

But customs does not accepts that as a ETA, they want a letter from WPC stating that the model that you wish to import has ETA

I have been through this ETA sh*t lately i know the hassle

whether the product has arrived??

Last time I contacted them they said the products are with delhi customs.
